Draco stormed off leaving Hermione standing alone in complete shock and silence. “Let go…” his words echoed in her mind clinging on to every thought and memory of their time together. She could feel her jaw go limp as perspiration lined her outer brow.

“Everyone goes through dark times, Granger. I know that better than anyone else” his voice was quivering and his hands were shaking vigorously  “but I don’t give a damn about what my father thinks or what anyone else thinks! I give a damn about what you think!” he spoke with confidence as he gazed deeply into her eyes trying to find some sense of hope.

“Go to the ball with me?” Hermione closed her eyes at the thought blinking rapidly to ensure that it was all real, that this moment was going to be worth all the torment and hate that it may cause. She slowly nodded her head as her eyes flickered to the Slytherin before her and back to the ground “I-I will” she stuttered before looking sheepishly up at him. “I-I’ll go to the b-

Her words were cut short as he placed his hand protectively around the nape of her neck pulling her closer to him. She shuttered beneath his touch, but he continued to lean forward until their lips collided forming perfectly around each other, slowly and tentatively moving in synch. “I’ll meet you there, Granger” he whispered against her lips before quickly turning, making his way out of the empty corridor leaving Hermione standing there alone in complete shock and silence.
